ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Welcome to the fourth installment of Windsor’s annual International Film Festival–an engaging ten day event featuring a broad spectrum of fiction and nonfiction films slated for November 7 – 16, 2008 in Windsor, Ontario.
With a mandate to showcase critically acclaimed cinematic arts by distinguished directors; to present international film worthy of a Canadian audience; and to debut independent film in Windsor, the Windsor International Film Festival is committed to providing accessibility to Canadian and international audiences.
The festival serves to contribute to downtown Windsor’s economy, while enhancing and promoting its vibrant cultural scene. Key components of the Festival include:
- A ten day festival comprising exceptional features, documentaries
- An Opening Gala Reception and Premiere Screening
- The presentation of high profile films
- The screening of films by emerging international directors
- The celebration of Windsor’s ethnicity and multiculturalism through the screening of cultural films
