Description:

At the age of 47, Julien is an author who has finally won recognition from the public and his peers through an autobiographical novel entitled C'est le coeur qui meurt en dernier.  It describes his special and often tumultuous relationship with his mother. After being estranged for many years, Julien decides to reconnect with his mother and make up for lost time. Suffering from Alzheimer's disease and confined to a home, she asks the unthinkable; help her to end her life. Old, well-buried secrets surface, and son and mother face the terrible demons of their past. Based on a novel by Robert Lalonde published in 2013, the film offers an intimate reflection on mother-son relationships.
